Ear candling can be done not only in the case of excess wax in the ears. Alternative medicine recommends ear candling also in the course of various diseases of the ears, throat and nose. It is recommended, for example, in the course of sinusitis or colds. In addition, ear candling can be chosen by people struggling with tinnitus of various origins and even hearing loss. Headaches and dizziness, migraines and chronic fatigue syndrome are also indications for ear conching.

Świecowanie uszu, inaczej konchowanie uszu, to popularny zabieg medycyny alternatywnej, którego celem jest usunięcie zanieczyszczeń z ucha, a także wyleczenie niektórych schorzeń. Świecowanie uszu było już znane w starożytnym  Egipcie, Chinach, Indiach, Tybecie, jak również w kulturach Azteków i Majów.
Świecowanie uszu można wykonać nie tylko w przypadku nadmiaru woskowiny w uszach. Medycyna alternatywna zaleca świecowanie uszu także w przebiegu różnych schorzeń uszu, gardła, nosa. Polecane jest np. w przebiegu zapalenia zatok czy przeziębienia. Ponadto na świecowanie uszu mogą się zdecydować osoby zmagające się z szumami w uszach różnego pochodzenia, a nawet niedosłuchem. Również bóle i zawroty głowy, migreny i zespół przewlekłego zmęczenia są wskazaniem do konchowania uszu.

*Po zabiegu 

należy przez kilka minut poleżeć. Dobrze jest zamknąć oczy i zrelaksować się. Po wyjściu z gabinetu jeszcze przez kilka godzin można odczuwać mrowienie w okolicy głowy. Te objawy szybko mijają. Po zabiegu trzeba chronić uszy – w chłodne dni czapką, a w cieplejsze – wacikami.
Trzeba też w dniu zabiegu uważać, by do uszu nie dostała się woda, nie można więc np. iść na basen, pływać, a nawet myć włosów. 
Niektórzy czują poprawę zdrowia czy samopoczucia tego samego dnia po zabiegu. Jeśli jednak dolegliwości były silne, konchowanie należy powtarzać.
Pojedyncza kuracja to minimum 2 spalone konchy. Kurację najlepiej przeprowadzić co drugi dzień. Przy schorzeniach przewlekłych ucha potrzebna jest dłuższa kuracja oraz wizyta u lekarza.
Profilaktycznie świecowanie uszu należy wykonywać co 7-14 dni i tylko u Profesjonalistów. 
Konchowaniu mogą poddać się zarówno dorośli jak i dzieci (powyżej 6 lat), Konchy są bezpieczne dla zdrowia nie powodują żadnych skutków ubocznych,
